Ffion Davies: Unmatched Dominance at ADXC2
Securing the fastest victory of the tournament, Ffion’s extraordinary skill and dominance proclaim her as the women’s champion of the second edition of the prestigious event hosted in Abu Dhabi
On Friday, January 19th, the thrilling second edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship took place. The formidable ADXC cage and its fierce competitors descended upon the Mubadala Arena in the heart of the UAE. Following its triumphant debut in November, the tournament made a return, illuminating the arena with a spectacular display of lights and hosting memorable clashes among prominent figures in the world of Jiu-Jitsu, grappling, and MMA. With 14 remarkable battles, ADXC 2 solidified the success of its inaugural event.
In the Grappling Co-Main Event, Ffion Davies reaffirmed her status as one of the world’s top grapplers. Demonstrating relentless aggression, she initiated the match against Luane Pinheiro with a guillotine attempt followed by intense pressure that pinned her opponent against the cage. Although Luane endured a brief struggle, Ffion swiftly transitioned to the back, securing a rear-naked choke in under a minute of the very first round. This decisive victory marked the fastest match of the tournament, showcasing Ffion’s exceptional skill and dominance in the grappling realm.
Yara Kakish vs. Emily Ferreira
The American Emily Ferreira carved her name as one of the ADXC winners after overcoming Jordan’s Yara Kakish in the tournament’s third fight. Working well on top and bottom, Ferreira’s guard gave her all the tools she needed to land the right attack on the final round. After attacking with a triangle, Emily did not slow down and went for an armbar, fully stretching Kakish’s arm to win.
