From April 12th to 14th, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Tour Rome 2024 sets its stage in the heart of the birthplace of one of history’s most renowned empires. Amidst such iconic surroundings, athletes of varying ages and ranks eagerly enroll, ready to showcase their prowess as warriors in the land that has long glorified sports and competition.
On the tournament’s second day, the seasoned fighters of the Master 1 category step into the arena, poised to make their mark in Rome’s storied history. With lucrative prizes, 2000 ranking points, and the prestigious title of champion up for grabs, black belts don their gi armor, prepared to demonstrate their skills and claim the ultimate victory.

Serena Gabrielli aims to defend her gold medal in the 49kg division for Italy, while Flávia Quintereli seeks the same honor for Brazil. Local talent Elisa Merli competes in the 55kg division alongside Ariadna Oliveira, each eyeing the top spot.
Brazilian duo Juliane Santos and Aline dos Santos dominate the 62kg division, but Italian contender Sabrina Cara aims to disrupt their plans with home crowd support. In the 70kg division, Magdalena Loska of Poland leads the pack, facing tough competition from Iara Vieira, Micaela Giocannone, and Marwa Alhousani.
Yasmira Dias represents Portugal in the 95kg division, challenged by Darina Goldin of Germany and Marcele Catanhede of Brazil, all vying for gold.
